Each night, the martyr has the option of choosing to protect someone against any nocturnal killer (Mafia, vigilante, and/or werewolf); if the person he protected is targeted, the martyr dies instead. Not a powerful role, and not one that will opt to exercise its power often (buying the angel one round is the obvious use, though there might be other tactical sacrifices late in the game), but it could save the game in the right situation.
