This is a variant from Norway: The true identities of persons assassinated at night are not revealed, although the identities of the victims of the day lynchings are. Therefore, an angel could be lost unknown to the group. It is crucial that the moderator continues to ask for the angel to awake, etc., at night, if the angel has been killed in the night, in order to keep up the general confusion.

Note - We have played a version of this game in which the deaths of mafia members are revealed, but not the identities of civilians. In other words, the civilians don't know whether any special characters, such as the angel, have been killed. This game met with success but mixed reviews.
