Pros: Funny for people who get the joke Cons: Secret games are frustrating to some Polar Bears around the Ice Hole Requires 3+ dice This is a secret group game. Someone roles a bunch of dice and asks how many polar bears are around the ice hole. Those that know the secret can answer. The game moves along better if at least one other person knows the secret and can correctly guess the objects. The secret is below: ** SPOILER AHEAD (scroll down) ** ** SPOILER AHEAD (scroll down) ** ** SPOILER AHEAD (scroll down) ** ** SPOILER AHEAD (scroll down) ** ** SPOILER AHEAD (scroll down) ** ** SPOILER AHEAD (scroll down) ** Think of the layout of pips (the black holes) on dice. Any dice that have middle pips showing on top are "ice holes", and the polar bears, of course, are sitting around the ice holes. So, for example, a dice showing five would have four polar bears, whereas a dice showing four would have none. Variation: those that know the secret can add to the gag by listing the number of "stupid penguins" - the stupid penguins are not smart enough to stand by the ice hole, so they are the total of pips showing on dies without ice holes. I've heard this game has also been called "Petals Around the Rose" and was designed to help gifted/ talented kids learn what it feels like to hear the same directions over and over without understanding them.
