In this variant, there are two groups of (two, maybe more?) mafia each. The awake separately at night. Their goals are (a) survival of their family, (b) elimination of the competing family, and (c) elimination of the civilians.

Note - We haven't played this variant yet, although it was among the earliest variants we discussed. We have, however, played the variant of Mafia vs. Werewolves which is a much more complicated version.
